Buffalo

As I look across the prairie that used to be my home, I realize that the future for my children looks hopeless. They’re going to grow up in a world with nowhere to roam. Who are these people destroying my land with carelessness? We’ve lived here in peace with the Indians for years. Their culture know how to live with us in harmony. These new people coming through cause us to live in fear. They have no idea how to use the world and all its beauty. Some may say that advancement in civilization is a good thing, But I suppose that depends on which side of the fence you’re on. For those of us that graze on the land and all that she brings, The birth of a city is just a reminder that our past is gone.
