Broken - 1st Place, Beautiful Or Broken Poetry Contest
Fragile heart that fell on a heart of stone
Shattered soul was left weeping and broken
Silence tames the sound of being alone
Loneliness makes the only word spoken
Horizon is gray and the dawn is dark
And the weeping sun shuns a brand new day
Where gloominess flares up the only spark
On bed of lilies, the memories lay
Somber heart weeps for its bleeding glory
While the autumn wind casts its gusty blow
Even if yesterday will say sorry
Sunless days will always bring the sorrow
For, broken wings may never fly again
Bleeding scars from wounded soul may remain
1st place
