Brief Solace

BRIEF SOLACE For My Mother If only you had not left me at the time you did, it would be better for me--not you, however. For in leaving, now gone forever, you've taken the best from me. Though I'm weathered by grief and much bereft, I've gain relief in seeing you released from pain-- but release from me was not our gain; solace for me--but only brief.

Carol losing a mother is hard,I know I lost mine long ago,but just months ago I lost my daughter to cancer, but her pain was more then I could bare,so the release when she passed was a gift from God to me....sorry for your grief

Thank you, Doris, for sharing this account of your grief, both loved ones. It doesn't get any easier each time it happens. Although the poem says "gone forever" well, just from earth. But I do believe I will see my parents again in Heaven. God is merciful.
