Breath

Of all the things I truly own
It is my breath alone
We come into this world with breath and wail
Other things in comparison seem to pale
On our backs we lie till we stand and grow
And yet we lie back down when we go
Our breath is unique and coded to heartbeats
Every soul that enters does a repeat
I share this universe with you in every breath
A universal soul we share in both life and death
This breathing world is closely linked
A breath every second like a blink
Of all my senses I love to smell
A breath of life I know so well.

I concur. "A universal soul we share in both life and death" Very few say it, but surely we all know, right?

Yes we do....If we share of all the earth when we are living....then certainly when we die we share in this cycle too....much love :)

What a marvellous write Carol, breathtaking. “Without breath we couldn’t exist, or take a whiff of aromatic fragrant flowers on the drift.” ~ Belle
