Breaking Loose
A terracotta cage
Holding in my roots.
Creeping little tendrils,
Trying to get lose.
Oh there is water
And there’s dirt.
There is light to help me
Grow.
But someday, yes someday.
You just gotta let me
Go.
I’m reaching for the
Light.
I’m reaching for the
Stars.
Although I know you’re right.
My heart is telling me you
Aren’t.
To the terra cotta cage,
That’s holding in my roots.
“Bettter watch out.”
Because I’ll be
Breaking loose.
