Breakfast Fly-In
pancakes and bacon served
under a big tent
at the east end of town
daughters hand-in-hand with fathers
people in line greeted like neighbors
conversation and laughter arise
a roaring bi-plane takes off
from a grass strip and arcs into clear skies
a delighted child goes for a two-minute ride
antique cars polished by hand
restored by owners
glistening new sprouts from rich soil
sunlight spread across the land
an awakening on fathers' day
