Boundless Hope

Hope stills the soul whose dying breath Calls out, at peace, the Saviour’s name. It fills the air with soothing words When hopelessness would stake its claim. In times of war its melody Can keep the soldiers’ spirits high. Through simple acts of tenderness Its fragrance lingers by and by. Reflected in the joys of spring Or heard in cries of liberty, Hope’s boundary is unconfined, And sets the downcast spirit free. 08.02.19 Strand Select B ,Any Form ,Any Theme Poetry Contest - sponsor, Brian Strand

I like to think our soldiers fighting in foreign lands have hope in their hearts, Wendy. You conveyed your thoughts beautifully. Congratulations on your win. There were many wonderful entries to this contest and nearly all of them were difficult to rank. Best wishes, Carolyn

Hope brings so much joy, it is the ultimate gift. If we could bestow this on the world, it might be enough. A fantastic poem, Wendy.
