Bottled Up
Let it all out
Don't be afraid to scream or shout
Don't keep it all in
It's a battle you'll never win
With an urge to protect and safeguard yourself you can build your walls up high
That guard will drop, walls will crumble and you'll ask yourself, why?
You can fight back those tears but, eventually they'll still come
We aren't meant to be emotionless robots roaming around cold and numb
Weather we like it or not we are human and sooner or later a breaking point we all reach
Crashing over you like a tidal wave hitting you all at once while you try to stand grounded on your perfect beach
Before you know it, it's disturbing your sleep
Overwhelming are these deep dark secrets that you keep
Stalking and taking over your every thought
Creeping in haunting and flooding your mind with what you'd hoped by now you'd forgot
Keeping busy with other distractions catches up in time
Playing games pretending everything is fine, to yourself is a true crime
Perhaps write down all your struggles, find a different outlet even if it's confiding in a stranger with a listening ear
Don't stay chained in your own shackles and stop living alone consumed by your own fear
Stop parading a mask to keep out the demons you try to hide
Open up your heart and mind don't keep it all buried, bottled up inside
