Boozer Not a Loser

A billionaire, he knew each wine by name

Todd Worthington of inheritance fame

      Blindfolded he taste-tested

     Fans watched so interested

Until a street boozer put him to shame

Fred stumbled in, challenged Todd to a race

Though Fred was not skilled in fine social grace

     Drank Todd under the table

Todd out cold, Fred was able

To acquire high society’s embrace

revisiting my short list of favorites at lunch today! This is a great pull off of a double limerick! Awesome to hear of your travels C.D.! I am not big on whether or not people comment on the poems I post on here. What I do care about is the handful of good people who are online friends to me. Knowing you are all are happy and healthy is urgent. And reading the good poetry is nice for inspiration and relaxation.

Carolyn, I'm not familiar with the name if real, Not much on the social graces myself :) but have partaken in some of those races ...and when I came out from under the table ..I don;t recall ever being embraced by high society .. lol Cool Limerick - reminds me of the country song with the words, "I've got friends in low places where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases.. my blues away.." Thanks for the entertainment this am before I'm off to work and thanks for your always welcome comments.;)

Great double limerick. I can just hear Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs singing that classic ditty of yesteryear.
