Body and Soul
BODY AND SOUL
Body I inherited when I was born
Soul was realized when heart was torn.
Day by day body aged growing old,
Yet soul stayed strong shining as gold.
As a child my wish was focused on game.
I grew older as body could claim
Mind got maturity, I proved my name.
Soul sat alone in the core of heart-frame.
Speed of body and mind are not the same.
In ageing body runs faster, mind loses aim.
Body and mind cannot cope up, who is to blame?
Soul fails to control, whom will I defame?
Silent soul smartly sat still stubborn.
Body lost fitness and charm, Mind went free, fresh, firm.
Alert Heart raised alarm, Immortal Soul did no harm.
Body I inherited when I was born.
