Blue

Laying in the sea
the water rises up high
left with one last breath
my chin touches the blue chill
the sun sinks away swiftly

I find this quite a relaxing piece, Michael-- could imagine lying in the sea, enjoying the sun and water--to have that last breath near the sea would be bliss I think-- :)

I read someone say "sad" down here, but maybe you are just lying there feeling the immersion. In any event, It's a very cool Tanka. Good luck in the contest and thanks again for my haiku win. LUv, Andrea PS just love that final line here!

Very nice description, Michael! You allow us to see the wave approaching and blocking the sun as you take a deep breath and prepare for it to wash over you. Best wishes in Francine's contest! Love, Carolyn
