Bloomed Musings
Night bloomed into smoky waves
And silent memories
Dance in front of my closed eyes,
Allowing me no rest, no jump into slumber
The lyrics of the song playing on my device
Blur up in my ears
And my mind rolls back into the waves of time,
Back to when my grandfather would recount to me
Of what he has lived through as a driver
During the second world war
Peace was, by then, the reigning queen of life
And wars seemed to be a fairy tale meant to be spoken
Out loud during nights spent by campfires!
My device got into pause mode, which bid me to blink
Back to reality, laden with photos of people facing the
Ravages of war, their faces crisp, their teeth clenched
And their demeanor, stoic!
Grandpa, my heart called out, when shall peace be back?
I wish to enjoy the meaning of peace, again!
