she smells the body of her mate the small hole in its pelt is a dark halo of blood she opens her mouth wide and shivers invisible death is here and everywhere the boy who shot the squirrel walks on reloading his gun he has yet to figure out that you never hear the bullet that rips through you and bullets are everywhere
