Blessed Prayer Life
We are blessed to enjoy our prayer* life in the Lord
as His redeemed with His salvation-cord
coming to Him, yielding to the grace He does afford
along the invitation He declares in His Word.
We are admonished to cling to the Lord with divine intimacy
as His ransomed ones by His tender mercy
cleaving to Him, submitting to His miracles’ fervency
along the help He promises midst turmoil of urgency.
We are privileged to commune with the Lord without hesitation
as His children by virtue of His adoption
approaching Him, expressing our earnest supplication
along the answer He grants in His compassion.
We are instructed to confess to the Lord our unfaithfulness
as His sanctified people assured of His forgiveness
worshiping Him, exalting His holiness
along the purification He grants toward good works’ zealousness.
We are exhorted to seek the Lord by faith daily
as His heirs through His blood-priced sacrifice truly
meeting Him, humbling ourselves at His throne sincerely
along the fellowship He offers blissfully.
We are delighted to be acquainted with the Lord’s ways
as His new creation to give Him praise
living for Him, yielding to His work all our days
along the love He secures, propped by His upholding brace.
We are enjoined to abide in the Lord to experience His glory
as His rescued from hell’s damnation and sin’s misery
serving Him, committing to proclaim His Gospel story
along the provisions He supplies with His sure victory.
*Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
