Anticipation falls like leaves
From oak and maple who grieves
Losing their beautiful cloak
Winds come to steal like thieves
Chimneys warmed with rising smoke
Sure the weather will never choke
On the heat from glowing wood fires
Where trees turn to ash, going broke
Graceful thoughts pour out with desires
Filling minds with kindness which inspires
Rich and vibrant hues of scarlet and gold
Dropping from sleeping trees who expires
Sporting sweaters to save us from the cold
The sunshine smiles, so brilliant and bold
Assuring hearts that seasons must change
If we’re to experience the weather of old
November is filled with peace so strange
Voiced on the breeze on an exciting range
Laughing through the branches, so alive
Serenity so soothing I’d never, ever exchange
As Fall shadows hearts, enlivening so we thrive
Wonders so amazing whisper for me to strive
To be encouraged by the splendor of this time
Which colors the world in glories that will revive
Hope, faith and love in this season inspire a rhyme
Delighting me with joy so intense it could be a crime
Praising the Creator for His gift of seasons so sublime
They enlighten and brighten, heal the soul for all-time!
