Charles Messina's The Beatles--Lay It To Me Contest...24 Jun 25...

Inspiration from the Beatles' song 'Blackbird'

What is that, 'midst gray silhouette A night-winged creature slips, beset? Fluttering through pampas and ground Mellow the dulcet trails of sound O blackbird, my breaths awaken By soft chimes...this angst forsaken Glimmering 'neath still of moonlight , I find peace in warlber's hymned flight !

Oh my, this is so evocative and profound, dear Nette. Your storytelling skills and the way you've painted a deeply captivating imagery with the wizardry of words here, ah, impeccable. I especially love that second stanza... "O blackbird, my breaths awaken By soft chimes...this angst forsaken" That part conveys so many sombre sentiments, touching one's soul in myriad ways. Beautifully written as always, pleasure reading your work, sweet friend!

You're so good with nature themed poetry. It's not really my forte. By any chance is this for the Beatles contest?
