I clutch this steaming coffee cup, To wash my sorrows away; Each bitter sip, I drink it up, As thoughts begin to sway. Push winter's chill from deep inside, While keeping time stands still; Where secret dreams no longer hide, And empty hearts refill. Sweet solace in a silver spoon, As darkness settles in; The night will fade away too soon— I force a phantom grin. Mug after mug, I yearn for more, This liquid balm I spill; Into my soul, I steadily pour, Until my wounds can heal. Yet truth remains to torture me: She'll never speak my name; Though drowning in this coffee sea, My heart burns just the same. The steam rises like memories lost, Into the midnight air; Each cup becomes a heavy cost— Of love I cannot share. Through caffeine haze and lonely days, I watch my dreams unfold; While hoping time somehow betrays This story left untold. -
