Birthday Girl
You don't like sappy things,
Or gazing at the stars.
You're more concerned with your morning coffee,
And having a clean car.
Random jokes and silly pranks,
'Never been your thing.
You prefer a bonded family,
And honoring the ring.
Unkempt hair and falling pants,
Does not float your boat.
But spending time together,
Is all you'd rather hope.
If I could've carved out my flaws,
With a butter knife.
My loneliness would be no more,
And you would still be my wife.
So as your birthday comes along,
With balloons and marble cake...
Know that I always loved you,
Even from our first date.
