Bird On a Table
BIRD ON A TABLE
It was his table
He was there first, before me
He said assertively
Talking, chirping defianty
Wanting crumbs
Unwilling to fly away
But ready to do so
In a flash
Heart racing
Courage and hunger
Friendly but timorous
He held his ground
As my Goliath hand approached
And dropped a crumb
In front of David
