Notes About The Poem

Bi-Polar Bear Revisited Not For Contest

In May I joined in a collaborative write
with Jan Allison about a bi-polar bear
Since then the furry marine mammal
Has been treated at Arctic Health Care

Here is an update that may interest you
After six months of meds and therapy
Her symptons are even worse than before
She's being tracked; for her it's a tragedy

Lady polar bear roams the Arctic plains
feasting on ocean fish and baby seals
She goes on a rampage when hungry
A carnivore doesn't like missing meals

She loves to dive into frigid waters
from floe to floe, she paddles til weary
searching for the most protective cave
to hibernate. Beware of her and be leary

Lady bi-polar bear met a mate to her liking
and soon she'll become a brand new mama
While she hibernates with a baby cub or two
I'll fly to the Andes, in search of a lovely llama

Thanks, Eileen. The site needs a touch of humor after seeing the seriousness of what's been going on.

This is fabulous Lin! You have cracked me up with this delightful poem! I remember vaguely about you and Jan doing a collaboration on a Bi-Polar Bear! That must've been a lot of fun cause you are still writing from it! This poor polar bear just needs a hug...who wants to give her one, HA! What a special piece, Great Work!!

Thanks so much, Russell. I'll draw you a map to her cave and if she doesn't bite you I'll be right there to give her a hug. Jan and I bring out the humorous, and sometimes off the wall best in each other.

We always have fun writing together, or on like topics. I'm sure your limericks will be delightfully funny. Thanks for liking the pic. It seemed to fit the ID of a bi-polar polar bear.
