Bills

I hope today will be a bigger payday
For bills come through the mail all the time
They always take a big chunk of my pay.
That’s what I got for buying things on time.

Paying bills for the world to see
Let the people know I don’t have what I need
When I’m all debt-free, will I see the day?
When the bills come due, my cash just flies away.

It seems to me a crime they charge such interest
These monthly payments get to be so large.
Each time I pay little of my principal.
I should have thought before I used my charge.

Paying bills for the world to see
Let the people know I don’t have what I need
When I’m all debt-free, will I see the day?
When the bills come due, my cash just flies away.

Sung to the tune of "Friends" by Elton John

LOL! This entry gave me a chuckle also. Such a pretty song, one of his earlier songs, from the motion picture soundtrack - Friends. Gotta love these comedy lyrics...very funny! Congratulations on your BIG WIN in John Heck's contest. Best wishes, Kory

Hey way to go with this clever redong of an Elton John song. I really want to work on this contest too!! Better get busy. Thanks for your comments. And yes, there was nbody like Dale. I met him age 8 when he was 12 and my mom married his dad. A stupid drunk ran him over 20 years later. He was nearly out of law school!

A great take on the "Friends" tune, Robert. I have always been so concerned about falling into debt that I sometimes do without things like food. I may end up dying of starvation, homeless on a city street, but I'll be remembered as one who is "debt free." Thanks for the laughs today! Love, Carolyn
