This is an old write I thought to enter in the Invisible contest, just not sure it was poetic enough.

It however is a most powerful reminder for myself how invisible I felt sometimes running around on the lowest rung, not as important as the paper I carried.

See me? No you don't. No property tag To say I exist, No power suit To show you I matter. Excuse me, Pardon me, I have a delivery. Hello?

This piece makes me wonder, if all of us who are invisible stopped crying out would there be dead silence. Just a thought sparked by your poem.

No, there would probably be a horrendous uproar when everything the invisibles normally do doesn't get done. Deafening lol ;)

This would have been a great choice for the invisible contest because the feeling of "I don't matter, I must be invisible" sure sings loudly in the piece, especially that final "Hello?". Really nicely done Maureen.

I know that feeling, Maureen - all my life a secretary - whether I was seen depended upon the importance of my bigwig boss! Nice little poem.

Exactly! And I bet you were one of those who met my smile with a smile, not treating the courier like scum. Some receptionists never returned a smile, not for years, others Glad to see me every time, telling me I brightened their day. Thank you! xomo ;)
