Betrayal - a Love Squandered

Thinking back there was a time, so very many years ago; we were young and love was in its prime. She told me she would always need me so, but rumors left me so dismayed, talk said my wife was hiding in the shade, and stepping out while leaving me betrayed. In search of thrill she always wandered seeking pleasures that she conquered as I sat alone and pondered….. My life was doomed and sadly out of rhyme, and her betrayal came as such a blow, while claiming always true was her charade. I now lament the love she squandered….. November 9, 2018
