Beneath My Feet

The ground crunches beneath my feet
A happy dog
A passing tree
Breezes that do their best
To clear away the filth

I walk and I walk and yet
Here I am
Always here
Always me

It takes more than a river
To cleanse a heart
That eats from within

All I want is to be with you
And so I walk and I walk
Anywhere, nowhere
Somewhere I can be the me
You deserve
