Belligerency
Seems you can never be free
never end the search for peace
never be truly forgiven
by a past you shared with someone
stored away all their indignation and guilt
a silent lance
the words of who did, you said, you did
in confidence confided
collected for a later date
to be used as weapons will
And so the happy time becomes unmasked
vitriol accusation
to rip it apart
dragged by viscous emotion
back to where you were
and goodbye freedom
farewell peace
and the changing path away from pain
becomes the way of life you hoped never to walk again
What ever you feel the spike won’t let you be
the wall is bleeding drip by drip
and some unfinished end is creeping gradually
as you dance upon the egg shells
of someone else's tenuous grip on sanity
as all their undefined and twisted logic
steams its crash into friendship
farewell peace
evaporate such make believe of temporarily happy
Teased apart by a needles picky ire
with exceptional over sensitivity
which never comprehends the tender heart inside its enemy
until that heart lays broken
ah then the secret satisfaction
of telling themselves, you see I was right all along
and now my un-friend has gone
Seems that free is always slippery
never look peace in the eye happily
never be yourself
because someone has a weapon hidden away
waiting for the moment
