Behind the Mask
Behind the Mask
Behind my mask is a familiar face
Often overlooked as a smiling girl
Yet, no one knows the smile is just a show
Behind my mask lies an ocean of tears
A sea of fears often felt each day
I am drowning slowly
My head is barely above the water
Behind my mask the pain is in my eyes
The hurt is in my heart
My feet feel like bricks
Yet, no one sees I am losing my grip
Behind my mask is a face trying to hide
Depression has taken over
Anxiety is getting the best of me
Yet, I continue to wear my mask
Hoping that one day I can live
From behind my mask
