Before the Rising Sun
This morning’s sky displayed a moon,
A smiling crescent, opportune,
With Venus hanging to the right,
For photos of that lovely sight.
I had no camera nor my phone
So had to leave that view alone
Except, of course, what stayed behind
Within the confines of my mind.
Now hours passed; the sky is blue
With not a trace of what I knew
Was obvious to everyone
Outside before the rising sun.
