Before the Blazing Fire

A cup of hot chocolate, a kiss, and thou Sitting here with me before the blazing fire Happiness that I can only dream of now, A cup of hot chocolate, a kiss, and thou The perfect time to remake a perfect vow Remembering times like these I will never tire A cup of hot chocolate, a kiss, and thou, Sitting here with me before the blazing fire.

I am glad you have a blazing fire "Happiness that I can only dream of now," - a great place to remember!

Actually, I don't, Caren. It's a gas fireplace, but it looks like a blazing fire...close enough.

Excellent Milton. I love a good triolet. A very overlooked form that doesn't get it's due.

Thank you so much, Richard. If you look through my list of poems, you'll find that I use it rather frequently. I, too, like the form, and I have invented a form that combines it with the traditional sonnet. You'll find it under "Trionet" in New Types of Poems. I appreciate you, Richard.
