Notes About The Poem

" FORTUNE " MY PHOTO, ©

May be an image of flower and nature

Becoming Poor

A rich man,

May become poor overnight,

If

His fortune is suddenly reduced

Or

His desires are abruptly multiplied!

We're glad to have you back, dear friend. Each of your poems is clear and precise. Not an utterance could be altered. This is beautiful; you're a gifted poet, dear Demetrios.

It comes from the very soul and a feast to the soul, a sublime timeless classic share.... Silpika

What's the Biblical quote? " It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven," ( May not me exactly correct, quoting from old man's memory) lol. Wise poem my dear friend. Thanks for sharing, Bill

What a shocking truth. Your poems are so crisp and they hit the nail on the head. There is not a word to be removed or displaced ! Love this, sweet poet friend Demetrios !

Perhaps it is the latter--greed takes over no matter how much they have. Well said, my friend. Love the colors on your flowers.

Absolutely, my dearest friend, Vijay! It is the thirst for wealth soul that causes the problem. Thank you for your precious visit and comment! Blessings!

Dear friend Demetrios, you poured your wisdom into action. The juxtaposition of two opposing ideas creates a powerful effect here. Anyone has the potential to lose all of their money quickly.
