Because You Say So
Wearing a white priest garment,
with a loud pink tie
You love to hear yourself preaching,
spewing out lie after lie
But your favorite one
is telling people they're going straight to heaven
right after they die
Ain't no need for a resurrection you say;
Jesus don't want us rotting in no stinking grave,
the Lord wants us sitting next to Him right away
Then he mocks it up a bit, pointing to heaven shouting:
dear Elizabeth, I know you hear what I say,
honey I'm coming to join you soon one day
And he laughs within himself,
as he passes the collection plate
This is the fourth time, during his long sermon,
it done came my way
I'm just visiting today
Being from out of town, my relatives
wanted me to come to their church to worship
I obliged,
but man my ears are itching
from hearing him tell so many lies
Like a good steward,
I'm gospel familiarized
I've read my Holy Bible
It says in the last days,
many false teachings would grow
And as my parents warned me:
it doesn't necessarily make it true,
just because someone says so
Keep feeding your flock lying doctrines,
telling them to believe the words coming out of your mouth,
because you say so
I'll let you in on a little secret,
fake preacher ...
when you die,
I know where you're gonna go
