"in placid hours, well-pleased we dream . . . "
Herman Melville (1819-1891) poem, Art, First Line

I write of dreams and dreams and of life's fight-
Writing to me is like breathing in daylight,
when I start penning it could go on all night;
and when I write of nature it is my delight.
I let go of my sad to send on a winged flight,
while my love is wrapped in my heart tight.
My journey has been a tangled, twisted road,
and I have so many feeling inside I could explode;
so, from my bleeding pen emotion has flowed,
and in my poetry the love of nature has glowed.
I think my improvement over the years has showed!
Oh yes, I love to write of my dreams and dreams,
from the corridors of my mind I find my themes;
and I really like to create intricate layout schemes.
I release all my dreamy, dreamy words on rainbow beams!
I am blessed to be able to write as it is a cure,
and a poem written is something that will ever endure;
that I can hold close 'till withered old and will ever be pure.
I have to and must share my many beautiful scars,
and words penned for my beloved are blinking night stars.
"Because of poetry, I can share me and that means everything."
