Because He Lives
I remember Easter morning with its bonnet sun
sweet bread offerings and church on Sunday
Smiles that were so big that even Jesus laughed
as he rose up to the skies like leaven bread;
Fresh trumpet lilies adorning the alter with love
in a little house of God Casula garment of white
Devotees file in eager to hear the word made flesh
Jesus Christ has gone from death to resurrected life
Revived by the joy He brings to us, on this day
we celebrate His life with pious devotion and sing
beautiful hymns of joy, " Because He Lives."
