Notes About The Poem

Beautiful Fall

BEAUTIFUL FALL

Blowing winds usher in colorful fall's parade
Elusive as a butterfly on the wing in an
Atmosphere that changes everything.
Uniting leaves to depart from their boughs,
Trees dressed in scarlet, gold, orange and brown
Inflight, twirl and dance their way toward ground
Filling eyes with such breathless imagery
Until the last leaf has retired to rest
Leaving bare trees to welcome snowdrifts.

Fall arrayed in hues to warm us from her chill
Always gives us grace from summer heat
Loveliest season of the year when
Lovers rejoice in the poetic beauty of it all.

Good Morning Connie. Your words truly describe autumn and are so fitting. It is my favorite time of year for all the reasons you poetically describe. Your entry is lovely and you did well with the acrostic format which is so difficult. May this day find you well.

Thank you Paul. I have been so busy with the granddaughters who are out of school right now, and working on ancestry, that I have not had much time for poetry. I need to have two of me to get everything I want done. : )

Your imagery is popping off the page as if painted on by an artistic hand. "inflight, twirl, and dance their way toward the ground." What a perfectly written line. Good luck in the contest, Connie.

How beautiful, Connie, yes I revel in this time since it is so fleeting, decaying with the passing day. Makes one appreciate beauty and its fragility. Lovely write. Viv

I was enchanted with the beauty of your Fall poem, Connie. Your autumn imagery is breathtaking, but I was especially delighted by a verse of seasonal preview; 'Leaving bare trees to welcome snowdrifts' - a lovely hint of wintry things to come.. A splendid and enjoyable piece! Warmest wishes always and best wishes for a win, my friend.. ~Susan
