Beating Down the Help
I told my oppositional defiant daughter,
It is always bad politics
and devastating economics
to beat up the cook
and maid
and chauffeur
and gardener
and tax payer
because then,
regardless of how many hotel rooms you own,
you will, eventually,
have to do all that stuff yourself
or die trying.
That's when she asked me
Can I kiss your head?
which, I suppose,
for her,
is like asking permission
to revere,
while holding close,
her primary capital investments
despite thuggish,
sluggish,
loser historic performance.
