Be Someone's Friend Today
Be Someone's Friend Today
By: Tom Wright

T'would not be fitting
to sit and dream my time away.
While somewhere among the masses,
those exist, in need of friends today.
Shedding silent tears,
while mired in self pity.
Combating boredom, that thief of time,
needing transportation about the city.
If in this day, perhaps the fleetest moment,
I could dispense God's love, along with cheer,
being willing to hold one's hand in silence,
content to be a willing ear.
Then I also will have escaped
becoming a victim of time.
While perhaps causing another
to inhale the vapours of God's spirit
then my day too, will have been sublime.
