Barren Branches of a Willow Tree Die

BARREN BRANCHES OF A WILLOW TREE DIE Barren branches of a willow tree die Sadly enough, they can no longer cry Barren branches of a willow tree die We watch in desperation hoping for life Sadly enough, they can no longer cry We watch in desperation hoping for life These tall stately trees are filled with strife No tender loving care can change their plight These tall stately trees are filled with strife Sadly enough, they can no longer cry 8 June 2018 For the contest sponsored by Laura Loo

Thank you, Charlie! Man I have enjoyed, and am almost finished, reading your marvelous. My daughter and her husband were home this past weekend and we almost have my second book ready for publication. You'll be among the first to receive a complimentary copy once they arrive.

really enjoyed this poem but I wish you expanded the vocabulary of rhyming words. "die" and "cry" are used a few times. But nonetheless really enjoyed it so I placed it because of that. thank you for your entry and congratulations on your placement. Be blessed, -luloo :)

I agree, Tom. They truly are rather stately and majestic. Whether lining a long winding driveway or standing like sentinels along a riverbank, they make heads turn. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. It makes my day.

I really like this. It has the feeling of triolet or kyrielle type poetry. I have not checked out her new contest. I better go see!!! thanks for your comment to my poem recently ,my friend.
