Barely There

Something within, always lingering, slips behind. A piece of memory, a reflection, kept to mind. The thought of tomorrow, barely even there. May fade away, evaporate into the misty air. In the moment, now, reality of day, touched by what was, by what may. A hint of always gently lingers there, A barely visible haze of sadness...everywhere

This poem hit me in two ways - one, it has a sad feel about it, and describes how grieving people often have grief lingering under the surface for a long period of time. It also describes for me, the times I have almost thought of a word or a name or something else I was trying really hard to remember, and it has elusively slipped away and cannot be retrieved until it is ready. Nice one!

You show what it is like to have something constant hanging on within, a thought provoking poem regarding the rest of the present moment too :) Well done Sandy!

Thank you, I tried to be less structured and to utilize more poetic tools, while keeping a little of my own style.Thought provoking is good, Heidi. A difference...
