I like to be still and focus my mind Tranquility for just a moment in time Balancing stones, new meditative skill Slow everything down, time to fill It's amazing how it all just clicks Just balance, no magic or tricks Any old stones from those lay around Just keep steady as right point is found Beautiful art to build and destroy With only myself to witness the joy Not magnetic, but some connection Such simple example of perfection Stones with history, linked to the past I build into something not meant to last

Have never heard of this art form DD. It must take a steady hand and eye to pick the right stones. Wish I could watch you do it. I know what you mean about something built not meant to last. Not recently but up to not that long ago, I could decorate cakes rather grandly. My masterpieces only lasted til someone attacked them with a knife. I love your poem, it resonates a skill, and a pride in creating something not meant to last. I enjoyed it a lot.

Paul Willason wrote a beautiful poem about it and I looked it up. It was surprisingly easy, not sure if it was beginners luck but it's quite magical finding the balance of each stone. The real key is to balance something on its end, but not really possible on a day that's blowing your face off :D
