Balancing

Love and hate are not so far apart, different sides of the same coin – a wrong flip can turn most anyone. I have known some that seem to have spent an entire life on the edges swaying back and forth... never committing to anything for long more inclined toward balancing, thinking that they can fool God while making peace with the devil.

Your last two lines are so clever Joe. So my friend you are three quarters Greek my great grandmother was three quarters Italian and married into a Greek family and became 'Rosalina Stais' who lived to the ripe old age of 97, but who very sadly lost a son to the Turks in the 1920's when there was a war between the Turks and Greeks (how unusual) they had to leave as refugees but had squirreled quite a lot through to Athens, so I have a tiny percentage of Italian in me. Thank you, Jennifer; I have not researched it a whole lot, as far back as great grandparents who were all in Sicily -- but I understand one of the first organized settlements in Greece was called Dimini, plural of Dimino. Who knows. Would be fun to know. Blessings my friend. Buona Giornata.

Sort of like, holding one's breath. One can do it for a necessary while...but a lifetime seems rather anticlimactic, with all the stimulating scents to breathe in, and the greens needing our active participation.
