Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal emperor 
Said, "The Brits said I wouldn't go far." 
If fans ask, I got the lot 
Say I am secretly been given a plot.

The last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah II. He is known to have fought for India's independence and his involvement in the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
After they lost, the emperor was tried for treason, imprisoned and exiled to other territory under British control , in what is now Myanmar (Burma).

Bahadur Shah Zafar died in 1862. The British buried him in an unmarked grave to keep his followers away.

Though local people knew Zafar was buried somewhere inside the compound of the local cantonment - where he and his family members were confined - they didn't find it until 1991.

Workers digging for a drain came across a brick structure which turned out to be the former king's grave.
