Backyard Business
Come sit outside, weather's great, lost its frown,
crickets singing, no clouds, sky brilliant blue.
Crepe Myrtles pose now in flashy red gowns;
rose in cling yellow will show them who's who.
Birds referee an interesting coup.
Cold winter honing for two months or so
Curtain rose featuring Autumnal dress.
Summer lingers, Leo's smile she bestows.
And, added to that, a squirrel game of chess!
All in our backyard and we didn't know
