Rhyme, ( When Dying Love, sends hell and its destroying wave )

Note: This poem, its original was written way back on August 6th 1976,
I have edited it to represent the memory that haunts me to this day,
always hidden in my private journal, now it must be given its light.
Yes, what happened truly did - beat the living hell out of me.
and yet I now know it was always meant to be! Even love that deep can
not survive the immense damage drug addiction can and does a curse
in a marriage cast and then comes its destructive powers. So the bubble burst and I had to again learn, even just to crawl.

Back When, I Couldn't Walk I Had To Crawl Back when, I couldn't walk I had to crawl when that sad and low, you just cant be tall Back when, life beat living hell out of me when day and night both, wouldn't let me be There was a crack in our shining rainbow And even our broke hearts, put on a show! Back when, you cried and then you said goodbye when life exploded, I wanted to die Back when, our arrows were shot full of pain when love's poison made us swear, not again There was a crack in our shining rainbow And even our broke hearts, put on a show! Back when, loneliness invaded our lives when excuses were our daily exercise Back when, precious lips were my sweet taste when in bed, time we never would waste There was a crack in our shining rainbow And even our broke hearts, put on a show! Back when, Fate's dark hand cast us both aside when you walked out, both our souls died Back when, we each had went a bridge too far when you drove away in our newest car There was a crack in our shining rainbow And even our broke hearts, put on a show! Back when, I couldn't walk I had to crawl when that sad and low, you just cant be tall Back when, life beat living hell out of me when day and night both, wouldn't let me be There was a crack in our shining rainbow And even our broke hearts, put on a show! Sorry you had to live this Robert. You went through this while I was still in the blind bliss of childhood.

Thank you my friend. It left a heavy mark. One that took years to overcome.

A very vivid insight into some of what shaped your burgeoning poetry in the earlier days. A very fine piece.

Thank you my friend. Sadly much of that shaping was in the form of becoming hard and jaded for a time.

Thank you my friend. The note above explains what the poem is about, the ordeal I went through being married to my first wife that was into drugs and could not be a faithful marriage partner. My fighting to save our life together and her winning out to stay on her beloved drugs.. A sad tale, but one that was lived over 40 years ago.
