Back On the Q

I haven’t been on bus or plane Or subway or the ferry Since Covid; that’s until today And was I nervous? Very! The Q train isn’t far from home And covers quite a distance In record time but riders, Just like me, have shown resistance. With folks afraid, there aren’t crowds So I thought I would try it, While worried that some people’d See the mask rule and defy it. But things worked out – I took the train And, with relief, discovered That social distance was observed And every face was covered. It was a tiny step I took To do the things I used to, Though there are many others That, right now, I still refuse to.

It is a sad reflection of our society that we "worry about our rights" more than the public good "With folks afraid, there aren’t crowds So I thought I would try it, While worried that some people’d See the mask rule and defy it." It is scary that so many lack empathy for others.

I've been thinking of taking a final trip to Paris but am very skittish about it, what with the covid surge in France and the nasty problems with tourists on airplanes. Hopefully I live long enough to see an end to the pandemic, I may just have a change of heart and a final trip to Paris. / Maurice

ilene, I'm shocked. Had always pictured you as 'brave and bold.' I'm now adding a dash of yellow to your picture. :) gw

I am so happy that you were able to venture forth...and doubtly happy that you observed the people taking precautions. Yes, be careful. The mask is an irritating thing...but it is a very good thing!

what wonderful news I am sure you were so happy to take what must be a big step back to some form of reality... whereas we are going backwards here lol. The USA have declared our island a red zone so folk from across the pond can't visit now. what a crazy world we live in:-( hugs Jan xx
