Her mum and dad are horrified She melts and says: "How sweeeeet!" Her arms covered in slimy tracks One snail climbing her feet And on her hand, infinitely small The tiniest snail of them all Carries all the love that she can't hide Her mum climbs up the wall Her dad completely petrified I make a tiny bed of leaves We let the baby snail with care Inside the bed, it's sitting there She murmurs: "I love snails" And I love her, Until that night When, on my head, one tiny snail Leaves its very slimy trail Sigh...

Kids love things like that. I still do!!! This reminded me of the time my stepsister brought a baby mouse into our house from the streets. She was told to get rid of it but hid it in our closet where it must have died from being smothered or something. It took days before my mom could figure out that weird smell!!

Oh, yes, I completely see that happen.... My little niece also likes to collect the dead snails, AND liked to hand out unused snail houses to snails without any LOL

Sadly we have to make sure there are no snails around because they are a favorite food of centerpieces which have an intensely painful bite. I enjoyed your cute poem Darren. : )
