Awkward
She was there in the dark upon his return home this evening.
Waiting, with a glass of wine in hand, she called to him,
“Darling, keep silent and move two steps forward.”
He obliged, not knowing what to expect, but having ideas.
He whispered, “I’ve waited for moments like this,”
and carefully, quietly and quickly got undressed.
Just then, lights went on as embarrassment hit his face
when he saw his wife, children and parents had gathered
to celebrate his promotion.
