Awakening
It’s an hour before dawn
The world an empty cocoon
Your breathe immortality
And life contemplates you
There are no hidden meanings
Only that which hands create
Buildings, causes, time
You’re standing in one place
Civilization is but a dream
As you are the only one awake
Peering into a virgin horizon
That no man can take
There’s no earthly demise to fear
Disease, famine, or pernicious way
The stars will not mislead you
The sunset has no reigns
You sense a world of creation
Amidst the pillars of fame
The clouds have many faces
Yet you know not their names
But the sun will always remind you
Before you seize another day
You’re late to work again my friend
