Autumn's Moon
Under the light of Fall's harvest moon
lovers rendezvous at the pumpkin patch,
time's precious, and Autumn passes so soon.
The farm gives couples little time to spoon,
so special moments like these, lovers snatch,
under the light of Fall's harvest moon
When cricket chirps compete with the loon
it's summer's end, and there are roofs to thatch
time's precious, and Autumn passes so soon
Colored leaves get mirrored in the lagoon,
and grandpa's still has brewed up a good batch
under the light of Fall's harvest moon.
The cool air carries a nightingale's tune
and you can almost hear the leaves detach,
time's precious, and Autumn passes so soon.
Sharing this night with a stealthy raccoon,
whatever it can steal, is a fair catch.
Under the light of Fall's harvest moon
time's precious, and Autumn passes so soon
