Autumns Atonement
Listen to poem:
Whispers fall in the vacuum of thoughts
As the leaves slowly fall to their demise
Hibernal hearts frozen within their knots
The winds of change cascading in their cries
Temperate seasons bring the equinox
My solstice soul sheds liquescent layers
Deciduous trees cover ravaged rocks
The monolithic moon absorbing prayers
Sequential storms strumming within the mist
Harvests bring hunger of love in the cold
Salivating snow marches with a fist
As September stumbles with a blindfold
The fresh air of fall cleanses the moment
In the cycle of autumn’s atonement.
