Soft hues of amber, crimson and gold Awaken my thoughts to the gentleness Of this crisp Autumn hope that flows Through my veins, bleeding whimsical Mysteries, inspirations and compassion The leaves aren’t the only ones to change With the urgent caress of this fresh season Which seizes hearts with a grasp of brilliant Creativity, venturing to enlighten and impress Spiritual intimacy, dreams of serene secrets With this air caressing me, breathlessly Ensuring me that light will always surround me With a sense of goodness and kindness Feelings that combine to create a haven Of hope, faith and love which God stirs inside Autumn desires to fulfill me with peace And I yearn to keep its revelations within Where I can grasp the insights that are left Arousing moments of purity that frees The soul to reach toward paradise with Him The One who saves to the utmost and lives To free the prisoner from the painfulness of sin Which whispers to the mind – fear and anxiety The farthest thing from the truth that liberates Pardons sin and gives mere man a new start This season reminds me of the Son of God Who gave His life to save a lost and dying world From the sorrow, pain and agony of a afterlife Without the One who created man and sent Jesus to die so that we could be born again! With my pen, I praise the One who brings Sincere joy, hope and love that lives eternally! Strand Completely New Poetry Contest 20 Sponsor: Brian Strand August 9, 2020
