Painted by East wind Cascades of colour in air Tall trees are now bare Looking down on flown offspring Proud of what they have created

Eamon, I just looked at the contest rules and while double and triple tankas are "encouraged," single verse tankas are apparently acceptable. I hope I didn't confuse you. Just want to see you get some recognition for this terrific poem! Love, Carolyn

Oh, I love the way you describe the trees looking down on their "flown offspring," Eamon. There is a fall Tanka contest going on now, but I believe it requires three verses. If you expanded on this delightful theme, you could enter it and I think you would do well in the competition! Love, Carolyn
